 Course Overview

Pre-Course

Our pre-course is entirely online and lasts a total of 35 hours. Here, you’ll learn all the fundamentals of permanent makeup, from the history of tattooing to proper sanitization, sterilization techniques, and much more.

Theory & Practice

In the 1 - 3 days following your online course completion, you can put your new knowledge to work. Permanent makeup theory and hands-on practice will take 65 hours, and in that time, you will learn various techniques and acquire additional knowledge on theory and anatomy. You’ll be assigned homework each night to be reviewed the following morning to ensure understanding and skill retention.

Real-Life Application

At this point in the licensure process, you should have acquired all the knowledge you need to practice with a live model. This is perhaps the most exciting part of the course, as you’ll put your newfound skills to the test and have the opportunity to refine your techniques and application as you continue to practice.

Permanent Makeup Apprenticeship

The state of New Jersey requires that every permanent makeup artist complete an apprenticeship before taking the final board exam. Apprenticeships entail completing nine additional procedures under the supervision of a certified trainer. Once you’ve finished your apprenticeship, you should have completed 15 total procedures, including the ones you completed during the course.
